AZ PRODUCTION

This is a project that I had worked on with two others. I was responsible with create a database driven menu that updated as the information was. The non-profit organization was trying to transfer their database from another server since they were no longer using their services and were looking for a way to update their own data without having to pay someone.

All the data was given to me in a large text file. I was able to parse the data and import over 600 files to a MySQL database. The main menu and sub-menus are database field that can dynamically change as the database is changed.Although they somewhat changed the design and layout of the site, the PHP/MySQL menu still remains.

Database Development

ACCESS DATABASE DEVELOPMENT

In a previous life, I had spent a number of years developing access databases for a number of companies and departments. These skills have translated well to developing PHP/MySQL databases since I have gained some knowledge of what can and cannot be done. So I have attached a pdf to show some of the documentation for one of my many databases.

Firefox Tutorial

I developed this short tutorial since I am a huge fan of open source software. Since I currently have open source software on my computer such as Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice and a slew of nice utilities, I decided to write a tutorial for a class.

Artwork/Image Manipulation

ARTWORK/IMAGE MANIPULATION

  • Illustrator

While creating images from scratch can be fulfilling, I find that I do enjoy manipulating and/or enhancing images. I have included a .pdf of some of favorite pictures and created artwork. The Lava Java pic is a smaller version of the packaging for coffee grounds. Mix is a fictional perfume made with Illustrator. The rest are images enhanced and manipulated in Photoshop.

World Class Pylon Racing

The airplane models were created in Illustrator. The backgrounds were created using freeware software and enhanced in Photoshop. And the entire movie was created in After Effects. It took about a week to create and does take advantage of lighting, 3D space, a number of precomps and some cool music.

Informed Consent Video

I was asked to edit a video and create an interactive environment for my client's patients. I came up with a doable solution by using the interactive features of Flash and using After Effects to edit the video that was provided to me so that I can start and stop to ask questions. This took a couple of weeks to create due to the fact that I had to also write the questions, create the outline and determine the look of the interface as well.
